Community Projects
This office regularly assists with activities in the communities we serve, and provides public information to local schools in the area. It is also active in providing community service opportunities in the local community for offenders under supervision.
DVD partners with local law enforcement agencies in times of need, such as in 2012 when the staff assisted in community policing efforts for the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office and the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office in the aftermath of Hurricane Issac. In quieter times, officers assist local volunteer groups with various functions such as the Bonfire Festival in St. James Parish and local Council on Aging Programs.
DVD co-host san annual National Crime Victims Week observance in April of every year in local communities that gives victims the support that they need to make themselves and their families whole.
